Meditation to attain a state of transcendence is a mantra-based, silent meditation technique for relieving stress & anxiety and gaining calmness of mind.

How to practice meditation to attain a state of transcendence

The technique for meditation to attain a state of transcendence is quite natural and effortless. It is therefore practised for 20 minutes, twice a day, sitting with closed eyes. It also involves the use of a silent sound called a mantra. A mantra can be a Vedic word or a repeated silence sound as chanting focuses concentration. The ultimate objective in this type of meditation is to achieve perfect stillness of the mind and Visualisations the ordinary human thinking process after all.

Meditation to attain a state of transcendence is a non-religious practice, which means moreover that there are no cults to follow and no philosophical, religious or spiritual beliefs to believe.

Some studies have shown that regular practice can help reduce stress, chronic pain, anxiety and high blood pressure. However, meditation is not a treatment for psychiatric conditions.

What is meditation to attain a state of transcendence?

Unlike the other forms of meditation that aim to control the mind, meditation to attain a state of transcendence focuses on driving the reason inwards to the source of thought. Because at the core of the mind, there is an already-existing natural calm. However, this state of peace is attained by going beyond ideas at the surface level. When settled into silence and stillness, our mind has self-healing power, detached from the senses.

Meditation to attain a state of transcendence is the process of freeing the mind from the clutter of thoughts accumulated as a result of mental work in day-to-day life. In this type of meditation, a mantra, generally the utterance of the Vedic word ‘Om,’ acts as a focal point for most of our thinking. This focus shift detaches the mind from thoughts that arise from contact with the senses. Thus, transcending sensory perceptions leads to settling the mind spontaneously to a natural state of bliss.

Benefits of meditation to attain a state of transcendence

Provides Stress Relief

Meditation provides deep mental relaxation and inner peace. By practising meditation exercises, your mind tries to cope with a few past traumatic experiences. We experience stress when we bit it difficult to maintain a balance between negative and positive thoughts. Each day, our minds become cluttered with thoughts generated from daily thinking and mental work. Through regular meditation practice, one can attain a state of transcendence, where the mind no longer overreacts or responds negatively to such outer sensory perceptions. A study conducted by Michaels, R. R., Huber, M. J., & McCann, D. S. (1976), suggests that meditation does not induce a metabolic state, instead, it brings the practitioner to experience a biochemical state of resting which induces relaxation.

Improves Relationships

Meditating to reach a state of transcendence can foster a deeper understanding of others, which can positively impact relationships and marriages. In an uncluttered and emotionally free state of mind, one develops a greater sense of things and situations, as well as a greater awareness of oneself. With wisdom and neutrality, we are no longer clouded by our experiences and our decisions are no longer based on biases. This is where forgiveness begins to set in, not just towards others but also towards ourselves in general. Relationship toxicity can cause stress-related psychological concerns. Practising meditation regularly to achieve a state of transcendence may help you avoid relationship toxicity and thus improve your interpersonal relationships.

Facilitates ADHD Treatment

Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) is one of the most common mental health conditions. Therefore ADHD can cause high degrees of anxiety and sometimes may even trigger panic attacks.  Then Meditation to attain a state of transcendence can provide improved functionality by improving brain coherence and regulating the nervous system’s activation. Meditation to attain a state of transcendence moreover enhances the brain’s overall functioning by improving the ability to focus. As a result, a person gains an improved organisational ability and can strengthen their divided and sustained attention skills. In a research study published by the Journal of Attention, it was found that activities to achieve transcendence might lead to significant reductions in the symptoms of ADHD.

Lowers the Risk of Heart Problems

However, the onset of heart disease is not instant. Generally, daily life stress, anxiety, blood pressure levels, etc., gradually develop a cardiovascular condition. A heart attack, therefore, can be the result of too much emotional stress on the heart. Hence, meditation to attain a state of transcendence lightens the emotional burden by letting the mind rest in freedom and its natural state of bliss. We can then reflect upon ourselves and the repressed emotions, which over time can lead to a sense of relief from negative emotions. According to a recent study, this technique may benefit CVD(Cardiovascular diseases)-related conditions by restoring neuroendocrine systems whose function has been affected by chronic stress.
