Jessica Collins | Social Worker

About Me

As you journey through life, it is common to feel stressed or overwhelmed at times. Feeling this way can lead to changes in our mental health, ability to function, relationship issues, and overall peace of mind. As a therapist, I walk alongside and support you with empathy and understanding as we work together to lighten the load, develop skills, and enhance personal understanding.

About My Family

Family doesn’t just include the relationships you are born into, but also the ones you build. Whether through birth, partnerships or community, family fills a vital role in our sense of belonging. I have gotten to learn more about myself through the relationships I have built with others, making me thankful for the reflections and quirks families of all types have brought into my world.

About My Professional Experience

As a social worker, I specialize in therapy for anxiety, trauma, and substance use concerns. I am trained in evidence-based treatments including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT). I also provide services for non-denominational spiritual integration support, following retreats or deepened meditative reflections. Furthermore, I am familiar with the Twelve Step Philosophy for those looking for complementary support in their wellness journey.

What can you expect from psychotherapy? Largely, this depends on your goals, which is where we can start. Some people wish for support in emotional regulation, distress tolerance, living in the present moment, communicating effectively, or challenging negative thinking. Our thoughts, feelings, and behavior all interact with each other. By focusing on these interactions, we can make changes to create the life we want to live.

About My Fun Side

Outside of work, I try and fill my time with adventures and learning. Whether it’s curling up with a nice book or podcast, roaming a hiking trail, or dancing to some music and flow arts, I try to live life in the present as much as possible.
