Delhia Smith | Psychotherapist
I am a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Registered Psychotherapists of Ontario (CRPO). I have a Master’s degree in Counseling Psychology from Yorkville University, and provide services in English and French. I believe that therapy is a journey of self-discovery and growth, where people can reshape their future irrespective of their past. In my practice, I have met incredibly bright and sensitive people who evolved from survivors to thrivers. Tapping into clients’ inner strengths helps them cope with adversities, increase self-awareness, and develop new healthy habits and resiliency skills.
About My Family
The members of my family are scattered across three continents.
About My Professional Experience
For the past decade, I have been assisting youth who are experiencing challenges related to anxiety, depression, post-traumatic stress, anger management, self-esteem, stress, interpersonal relationship complexities, as well as their families. Having worked closely with parents and teachers, I know the stressors they may experience while supporting young people. A part of my professional journey also includes emotional support and crisis intervention services provided to women who are coping with domestic violence. Therapeutically, I use an integrated approach to meet the needs of each client. My formal training includes Solution Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, psychodrama, trauma-informed and attachment-based approaches. Working collaboratively with clients, we explore different tools that combine and form a unique way to address their situation and maximize their strengths.
About My Fun Side
I love outdoor activities, travelling, and crafts. I am curious, patient, and straightforward.
